05/04/10 - PICTURE FRAME ARCH & VIEWPOINT

This was on the east side of Lone Rock

Good Road

It was an interesting day. We had some good road (15-20mph dirt mostly)

Not So Good Road

Some not so good road - (4wd 5mph)

What Road??

and a little What Road (get out and walk it first to see where you're going)

I realize to the old wheelers this is all nothing and they fly through it for us new to the sport every little ledge or rock is a challenge.....

Rock over the road

Here's a rock you kind of watch as you drive under it - but you have to figure if the powers that be decide to put a rock on your head it was time to go - but you watch anyway hoping it's not time yet :))

and there were a lot of sites to see along the way. Here's a pair of twin arches off in the distance -

Flowers Flowers for the honey -
Dead Tree

A dead tree for me -- I don't know what it is there's just something about a dead tree that intrigues me. Something in the intricate pattern of the branches. Can't describe it - it's like the rocks, it just seems to say something that can't be expressed in words.

Picnic spot

At the end of the road was the overlook and we stopped there for our picnic. We found a comfy looking rock for a table and settled down for lunch with this view in front of us.

Overlook and here's the view out the other direction.
View Back

and here's a shot looking back on the way we came getting to the overlook.

Road Home

We went back the way we came - it was a fun day with a few little challenges and a beginning on learning what we can and can't do -
